About Charlotte

Charlotte is a self-taught oil painter whose work blends realism with a strong sense of mood and atmosphere. She is drawn to animals, people and still life, often taking inspiration from the wildlife and farm life she encounters in the Cotswolds. Many of her animal pieces begin with real interactions, and she enjoys photographing and studying the subjects she later brings to life.

Her process is rooted in observation. She starts with photography and hand or digital sketch studies, then builds each painting with layers of oil paint. Beginning with broad, confident foundations that gradually resolve into refined detail. Her approach is recognised for its balance of sharp focus and softness, guiding the viewer’s eye to the subject while creating a sense of intimacy and depth.

Charlotte’s paintings are collected by private clients, galleries and interior designers. She continues to create work driven by her deep enjoyment for painting.
