Commissioning a Painting
Commissioning a painting with Charlotte is an opportunity to create something truly personal and lasting. She welcomes commissions of all kinds; portraits, animal studies, still life and bespoke subjects. Every painting is thoughtfully tailored to your brief and the space it’s intended for. Whether you have a clear vision or just the beginning of an idea, Charlotte will work closely with you to bring it to life.
How the Process Works
1) Get in touch
Email Charlotte with what you’d like painted and, if relevant, your timeline. She’ll share available sizes and prices, with the option to create a bespoke size or shape.
2) Share your images
Send photographs of your subject, or ask Charlotte to help source references. Together you’ll agree on the references, the composition, colour theme and schedule.
3) Secure your slot
A 50% deposit confirms your place in Charlotte’s painting schedule.
4) Painting begins
Charlotte creates your artwork and shares progress updates at helpful stages so you can follow the journey.
5) Final approval & delivery
You’ll receive images for approval once the painting is complete. After the remaining balance is paid, the piece is allowed to dry, then varnished for protection, before being carefully wrapped and delivered to you.

Frequently Asked Questions
Timelines depend on the waiting list and the size and complexity of your piece. Most commissions take 3–8 weeks to complete, plus drying time. During busy periods, delivery can take up to 6 months from booking due to the waiting list. If your commission is for a special date, please let Charlotte know and she will do her best to accommodate it.
Yes, a 50% deposit secures your slot. Once work has started, deposits are non-refundable.
Absolutely. Charlotte provides a guide to common sizes and prices, but you can create a piece in any size or shape to suit your space.
Clear, high-quality photos are best, but Charlotte can work with lower-resolution images if that’s what you have. She can also help source references.
Yes, updates are shared at key stages so you can see the work developing.
Yes. Paintings are shipped worldwide. UK delivery is free, international shipping is £40.
Small adjustments are welcome - Charlotte wants to ensure every customer is completely happy with their painting. Major changes may require additional time and cost.
Yes! Commissions make wonderful gifts and often form a large part of Charlotte’s schedule. If there’s a deadline, please mention it early on so she can plan accordingly.
